GBDK sound example

I'm trying to wrap my head around how to playback bleep's and noice useing GBDK.
Sadly the example code in gbdk/example/gb/sound.c is broken due to lack of bitfields support. Or thats what I get out of the Makefile. Seems like there is some compatibility issue with the console.h API too.

Anyhow, is there any GBDK specific information abound sound playback out there? I understand that Pan Docs is the place to go, but I'm hopeing for a shortcut in to GBDK.

Thanks in advance.
