Releasing an homebrew game on a cartridge?

Hi everyone,

Having completed my first homebrew game, I'll be interested in having a small batch of physical cartridge (er... I mean "Game Paks") with the game on it.

Do you have any experience in producing / releasing an homebrew GB game on physical carts?

I know that it's possible to "sacrifice" actual GB games and replace the EEPROM inside, but I'm looking for a "sacrifice-free" solution (much like the many chinese homebrew one can buy on ebay, with new PCBs and new cheap cases). Also, I have no "soldering / hardware" skills, so my ideal solution would be "I send the rom file + cover images to a 'factory' that can produce cartridges".

I've seen here and there that some homebrew titles exist on physical carts (the outstanding "Where's my cake?" from HuCabbage to name one), but I have no clue about how they were made.

My game is a 32kb rom, so no MBC are needed.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Maybe it's worth taking a look at the links I posted here.

But like drludos, I'd be interested in other alternatives if anybody has a better idea...

Thanks a lot for the links Jonas!

Unfortunately 8bitevolution website is no longer working.

Regarding Retrospiel, do you know any homebrew game they published?

And I've heard good feedback about the SNES game published by Piko Interactive, it's good to know they are working on the GB games too!

Sorry, I didn't see that 8bitevolution.com is down. But as far as I know, they still exist. I'll send you the owner's e-mail address, so you can contact them.

I'm not aware of Game Boy games actually released by Retrospiel or Piko Interactive, but I'm quite sure that they're both able to do that. Just ask them. wink

Edit: Just sent you the mail. I didn't get a confirmation but a blank screen, so contact me if you didn't receive it.
