How difficult is it to make a GB game?

Hi,

Recently I had an idea to create a GB game. I'm a fan of the Fire Emblem franchise for GBA, so I'd like to make a similar game but for Game Boy. I can create graphics, story and all gameplay mechanics. Only problem is, I never really did any programming. I used to program in PHP a long time ago, but that was almost 15 years ago. How difficult is it to create a Game Boy game by learning programming from scratch? Is it possible for a beginner?

This is first mockup:

For a beginner such a game is highly unlikely. I remember there was some open source unreleased rpg game, called Infinity.
You could try to learn from source code and modify it but it looks like they removed it? Try to google it or ask them directly.
