Hi,
I wondered and couldn't find a source (maybe because english is not my first language and I was searching wrong) on how to achieve the 3d dungeon effect in old school RPGs like Wizardry (even the Gameboy Wizardry games).
I assume you have a 2d representation of the dungeon grid as an array including player position and current direction. From there it is quite obvious which grid tiles can be seen, but how do you "convert" it to a the tiles on screen. Is there a proven or widely used algorithm for this?
thanks for any hints
