Connecting a TI-84+ CSE to a GameBoy Color

Hello! This is my first post smile.

All right then.... I just bought a Gameboy COLOR and taking a look at it, I noticed something...

The Gameboy has a USB port.... that just happens to be almost the exact same as my C(S)E's.

Immediately, the idea popped into my head that I could possibly:
1. Power the Gameboy via USB, or better yet,
2. Link it to my calculator.
What do you guys think? Is it possible to link my calc to a Gameboy?

EDIT: I just noticed that the port doesn't fit a regular USB. But I can mod a cable to go in between the calc and Gameboy. After all, a cable only costs $2-$3.

On the other hand, I just found this, which shows the pinout of the GBC link cable. Also, I plan to use a I/O cable to connect my GBC to my CSE.

Re: Connecting a TI-84+ CSE to a GameBoy Color

Obvious disclaimer, I know next to nothing about the TI-83.

The link port on a Gameboy isn't USB, and has a MUCH lower transfer speed. Is it possible to link them together? Probably, but you'd need to write a custom Gameboy game, and maybe even have some hardware in between the calculator and the Gameboy.

Also, you can't power the Gameboy via the link port.

So good luck!

IIRC, the port on the TI-83 isn't USB either, it's a proprietary connector and you need the proper cable that does the translation from their proprietary protocol to USB. So your first steps would be to secure enough data about the TI-83 and GB link ports to know if you can actually link them up.

So......

I got myself a GBA. And I've determined that it is possible to write a communication protocol.
