Hi all, I worked on Retr0 GB, a custom game boy game engine based on GBDK (so in C, sorry for ASM devs). It is still in a work in progress state and I don't know I will have time to update it, but I want to share my work with other people.
Unfortunately I have no time to make a tutorial, there is some documentation on the wiki and the engine comes with an integrated examples (you should remove all maps and other assets to free ROM space ^^). You still can ask questions, I will try to be help you as I can.
Retr0 GB is available on BitBucket, feel free to fork it.
I used my engine to make Dumblin Dungeon for the Global Game Jam 2018, we was 3 people on it during 48 hours.
Hoping it will help some people ^^

Just a heads up, a few of the links in your post seem to be broken (they just link to /), and I don't seem to have access to the wiki.
