For some reason or another, there aren't any visual novels out there for the GB. I'd really like there to be one.
For the past couple years I've dabbled here and there with GBDK but my C skills aren't that sharp unfortunately.
I'm primarily a chipmusician but I can also handle the art and story.
Would anyone want to work on this with me?

For those unfamiliar with VNs, they're essentially a story portrayed through story/dialog with accompanying music and art.
They often have choices to be made by the player that influence the direction that the story takes.

Funnily enough I too have contemplated to make a visual novel/ dating sim for the GB.
I was thinking of making mine in ASM instead of C as I'm used to working with direct memory addresses instead of relying on the compiler to do most of the work.
But for this kind of game I'm sure GBDK is perfectly fine, as the game consists of nothing more than images, text, some input and a bit of sound
While I'm not sure if I can dedicate very much time. I'd be more than willing to help out coding on this project until you find a more dedicated programmer.

Might want to talk to calc84. He made a Steins;Gate port for the GB.

Had totally missed that one somehow.
The vector graphics (while not as visually pleasing as something that has been specifically tailored pixel by pixel) sure look neat loading in the scenes
He also seems to have the music down.

Wow, that is really cool! I find it interesting that it draws the scenes faster than the PC version haha.
